You know how they say kids love to play with a big brown box? Add luggage to that. Who knew it could keep them happy while I changed crib sheets, unloaded the dishwasher, AND picked up blocks. Brilliant.

Rainy Day and Bowling
Over the weekend we spent a rainy day in the hot tub then off bowling with my family. Remember how the kids were just playing naked in the sunshine? I can't keep up with this weather.

They're Crafty
Today the kids painted pumpkins with Landrie. They did really well too! Only a minor amount of paint snuck into their mouths.

About Town
I've had a rough week with Ella, she's been really clingy and demanding lots of attention. I took them downtown SLO this afternoon for a change of scenery. I wasn't sure I wanted to go out, but I'm so glad I did. I became that Mom beaming at her kids as if they were the cutest in town. Once I freed them from their stroller they did circles around the courtyard, laughing and prompting me to chase them. We shared a frozen yogurt then applauded ourselves when we made it through Pottery Barn without breaking anything. I watched them scrunch up their noses and fog up windows of fancy storefronts. Man do I love them.
p.s. Check out their new boots from Gma J. They LOVE them. So do I.

Happy Birthday Handsome
Mike,
You've worked really hard for us this year. I wish I could give you something amazing like a trip here...
Or your dream fishing boat...
Or maybe a cool old El Camino that you could fix up...
But as you tell me, someday we'll have these things if we still want them. For now, thanks for being as happy with this life as I am. We appreciate you. We love you. Happy Birthday!
