This post could open a can of worms so I'll stick to my initial thought...before I had kids, I would tell you that I would never indulge children with Mickey Mouse at 2 a.m. That was before I had this fluke night. It's Monday, so Mike has to be up at 2:30 a.m. to leave for work. Ella ends up in bed with us. Then at 11 it begins. Maxwell wakes up screaming. Which wakes up Ella. Which wakes up all of us. And so this continues. I try rubbing backs. I try rocking them in my arms. I finally bring them in our bed. They are still livid. I put them back in their beds. I let them cry. 11:00. 12:00. 1.:00. 2:00. 3:00. DEAR LORD. This feels like the good ole days when I had babies hanging from both boobies at all hours of the night. It's been awhile. This actually was the worst 'sleep night' to date. Who knows why...all I know is at some point I realized that Mike wasn't sleeping through any of this and he had to drive four hours and then work for ten. So I brought both of them out and had a Mickey Marathon at 2:00 a.m. Before I had kids this would have never happened. "They can cry it out." Yeah. That's a hell of a four hour cry. Here's to a better sleep tonight :)
If you're thinking to yourself, "Really? At 2:00 a.m. she's thinking 'let me take a picture so i can blog this?'" I'm right there with you. This was an attempt to keep myself awake and a photo opp that I will hopefully look back on and laugh? But not yet.

I wouldn't judge you for this (or for taking pictures of it!). At 2 am you were probably desperate for anything to keep them quiet. I've so been there! And we watch far too much TV in our house. OMGoodness it's out of control. They demand it and cry for it. I'm waiting for nice weather so we can play outside and keep that stupid box off. :-)
this will seem like a very small compromise as time goes on... you will do more (and worse) outlandish things that you swore you would never do.... ha!
