Four Friends (+ Their Moms)

There's something special about these friends. Tara and I bonded over our crazy similarities. We are the same age, both first time Moms (to twins) born within a week of each other. When we're together it's so nice to share a look with her that says, 'I get it.' Because she does. And watching the friendship with our kids change is so fun. They really play now.

Drew and Ella snuck off behind the tree. They were sharing a moment and I interrupted with my camera.

Some Like It Hot

It's been in the high 70s and low 80s around here...so I've been all smiles. First stop, the beach.

Dig them a hole and they're happy for hours. (Literally, like 2 1/2 hours. Then they go from the happiest kids on earth to melt down).

Sandy hop scotch with friends.

Ending the day with some baseball and BBQ. (Is Max a walking Disney ad or what? The character paraphernalia kills me. But it's not about me is it).

Sleepy girl fell asleep in our bed.

Second day this week. Same spot. Because when it's this warm, and we can...why not? Days like this I pinch myself that the rest of the world is at work and I get to make these memories with our kids.

The warm weather is sticking around as we celebrate Maeg's boyfriend Zach's birthday this weekend. Enjoy whatever you're doing :)

My brother Spencer is heading to Costa Rica for a surf trip tomorrow...have the best time Spence! Be safe. Have fun.

Gone Fishin'

We took the kids fishing at a little lake in a nearby neighborhood. It's a shame they won't have any video or photos to remember their childhood.

Easter Photo Overload

Here's our Easter in photos...and a video (the video's long, you're welcome Grandparents). Maxwell told me today that he likes Easter. Then he asked me if it's going to be Christmas tomorrow. They've got this holiday thing down.

The Easter Bunny brought Ella Lip Smackers...this girl is INTO makeup. And I am not. We may in trouble here.

Maxwell took his egg hunting very seriously.

Ella's total = 5. Maxwell = 213,445. She kept telling us, "Me fine. Me have enough."

Easter dinner up at Grandma Judie's house...missed you Michael.

My mother in law has the perfect yard for an Easter egg hunt. Everything was so pretty.

Don't forget to look up high...

Big boy started getting tired about now.

Cousin photo missing Michael and Maxwell. Michael because he wasn't in town, Maxwell because he didn't want to.

He'd rather hang out with Dad than pose for Aunt Tanya and I.

Pretty, pretty sisters.

Maeg and Zach.

Cousins and Grandma.

Little charmer.

Notice anything funny about this picture? ...Behind the girls...

Why yes Gnome, this is a lovely day.

An attempt at a family picture...

...as good as it gets.

A Bittersweet Move

My stepson Michael is moving FAR away. It's completely bittersweet. But instead of me telling you about it, I'm sending you to read about his journey from his beautiful sister's point of view. Because she nailed it.

You will soar Michael, as you always do. (Just excuse us if we say our goodbyes with tissues in sunglasses, sniff, sniff).

The Sun

My mood is definitely effected by the weather. I can do rainy or grey for a bit, but I thrive in the sunshine. My favorite memories with the kids are playing outside. We are totally spoiled by the weather here. I should NOT complain because we've had just spots of rain, which we need, so don't hate me Hill and other Washington friends. BUT, I'll just say that my favorite afternoons are spent in our backyard by the BBQ when Mike gets home from work (and he's working in town). Yesterday was one of those great days. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a feeling of contentment at home.

I lived in Seattle for a year after college. It was beautiful, fun, and sooo much to do. But I missed my sunshine!

p.s. If you are considering saving up for a play structure like this, ours is from Costco...DO IT! Oh my goodness, best investment ever!
